About the Employee Turnover Cost Calculator

This calculator estimates what employee turnover actually costs the business and what improving retention could recover. It goes beyond salary to include the direct and indirect costs that accompany each departure and replacement.

How it works

You enter headcount, annual exits, average salary and benefits burden, recruiting cost per hire, average days a role stays vacant with the associated productivity loss, and onboarding and ramp-up costs. The tool combines separation, vacancy, hiring, and ramp-up components into a cost per departure and an annual total, and compares your current turnover rate against a target so the potential recoverable amount is visible. Results are estimates based on the inputs you enter.

Who it is for

HR leaders, founders, and finance partners who need to quantify the cost of attrition, build a business case for retention initiatives, or set a realistic turnover target.
